The Dunedain Rangers, hidden protectors of the forests of Gondor, were some of the greatest warriors who ever walked Middle Earth. Among the last descendants of Numenor, the Dunedain guarded the peaceful folk of Middle Earth from Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, and other evils that served the Dark Lord Sauron. Greatest among them was Aragorn, son of Arathorn, who ascended the throne of Gondor after Sauron’s defeat and ruled for many years of peace.

In the incredibly popular Lord of the Rings movies, Aragorn carries a simple but effective bastard sword.
